Proviand Restaurant

The beautifully renovated Proviand Restaurant, the oldest state building in Griekwastad, offers an real oasis to travellers on the N12 route between Kimberley and Upington.

The restaurant with it homely look and feel, once was the home for many Magistrate's, but is now the place where travellers can relax for a while and enjoy good food. 

The building that is a National Heritage, was erected in 1899. Thanks to the vision of Anton van Niekerk, the current owner, the old lady is now a stop over for travellers.

In winter time the old fireplaces does not only keeps the cold away, but also warms the hearts of the visitors. 

In summer time the colourful garden invites you to relax and enjoy nature. 

The uniqueness of the restaurant is that all the meals is home made and fresh. Visitors can enjoy food of high quality. 

The expanded menu includes tasty breakfasts, home-baked pies, tender steaks and delicious desserts. The dishes that are served was selected with great care to offers the visitors a great culinary experience.
